Roll the sellotape on...pattern cutting on stand

27/09/2012 ehrrr well!!! First day of class...was a demonstration of designing 3D or paper modelling as it is also known :). This was basically shaping paper onto a mannequin and securing it with sellotape.

Drawing began with marking the important parts like centre front, centre back, sides waist and bust for guidance.

My initial design...inspired by the optical illusion dresses that have been on trend lately... ;). I decided to make my lines simple and straightforward and if a bit fancy...just curved!

Don't forget the balance marks(notches) and to help combine complicated pieces together arrows, letters and numbers are quite useful.

And the cutting began...
